Thousands of people took part in the demonstration in Zurich on Saturday. Organizers estimated that around 7,000 people attended the event, while the Zurich City Police reported that several thousand people participated.
Police reported that among the participants of the demonstration were some self-proclaimed anarchists and some coronavirus skeptics. One person was reported to the state prosecutor for setting off prohibited smoke bombs.
The most common chant of the demonstrators was "Free Palestine". Israel was also referred to as a terrorist in chants.
At the Bahnhofstrasse, there were isolated incidents. A passerby insulted the participants as terrorists, as observed by a reporter from Keystone-SDA.
At the demonstration, individual posters drew comparisons to Hitler or labeled the West as a supporter of terrorism. However, the most common sight was Palestine flags of all sizes.
