Two injured after an altercation in Ticino

A 38-year-old man suffered stab wounds to his neck and back during an argument in an apartment in Ticino on Saturday. He had to be taken to hospital. The public prosecutor's office is investigating attempted murder.
A 41-year-old Swiss woman living in the region climbed out of the second floor of the building after the incident in Vacallo in Mendrisiotto, the Ticino cantonal police wrote in a statement on Sunday. She was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The public prosecutor's office is investigating the altercation between the two people, the press release continued. The focus is on attempted murder and grievous bodily harm. In view of the ongoing investigation, no further information can be provided at present.
