Two people were injured in two accidents in the canton of Fribourg on Saturday. In one case, the fire department was called out to rescue an injured person.

The woman lost control of her vehicle while driving from Grandsivaz towards Domdidier at around 02:30 and drove up the embankment on the left, where the car came to a halt lying on its right side, according to the Fribourg cantonal police. The 44-year-old injured woman was then treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.

The second accident occurred in the evening at around 9.20 pm, according to the press release. A 29-year-old driver was traveling from Le Bry in the direction of Bulle when he also lost control of his vehicle. He drove off the road, the car overturned several times in a field and then came to a standstill around 40 meters below the field. The 29-year-old co-driver was injured. He was also treated by the paramedics and taken to hospital.

The two accidents were probably caused by black ice, but the exact causes are still being investigated.
