Unknown persons blow up cash machine at post office in Ettingen BL

Unknown persons blew up an ATM at the entrance to a post office in Ettingen BL early Friday morning. No one was injured, according to the Basel police. The perpetrators are on the run.
There was considerable damage to the building shell and the surrounding buildings. Several people reported a loud detonation to the police at 2.30 am.
The patrols moved out immediately, but the motorized perpetrators fled in an unknown direction. According to the press release, it is not possible to say how much money was taken. The police are looking for witnesses.
During the investigation, the police cordoned off the area around the post office on Witterswilerstrasse for security reasons.
It has launched an investigation in collaboration with the public prosecutor's office in Basel, the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland and the Federal Police (Fedpol). These are under the direction of the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland, which is responsible for explosives offenses.
A similar crime was committed in the Basel region this week. On Tuesday, unknown persons blew up an ATM on the grounds of the University Psychiatric Clinics in Basel.
