Wedding convoy blocks highways in Aargau

A convoy of vehicles obstructed traffic on the A1 and A3 highways in Aargau on Saturday afternoon. It consisted of at least eleven vehicles and was on its way to a wedding, according to the Aargau cantonal police on Sunday.
Up to five vehicles drove side by side on the highway, braked to a standstill and slalomed across the emergency lane. The police confiscated the driving licenses of eleven drivers from Switzerland, France, Germany and Russia on the spot.
The offending drivers will also be reported to the public prosecutor's office. According to the police, their driving not only endangered themselves, but also other road users who were not involved.
The convoy was on its way to Zurich. The police were able to stop it outside the highway in Mägenwil AG.
