A 34-year-old woman who allegedly harassed, attacked and injured her husband has to answer to the Bülach District Court today, Wednesday. She is charged with assault and deprivation of liberty, among other things.

The Zurich public prosecutor's office has charged her with more than a dozen offenses. They are demanding a prison sentence of 36 months as well as a fine and a fine. However, the prison sentence is to be suspended in favor of inpatient addiction treatment, meaning that the Swiss woman is to undergo therapy.

Man locked on the balcony

In 2021 and 2022, the woman allegedly attacked her husband twice with a kitchen knife and injured his arm. According to the indictment, she also locked him on the balcony. After he moved out of the apartment, she also allegedly threatened him.

According to the indictment, she threatened to burn down his parents' farm and harm them all. She also wrote to her husband via WhatsApp that she would "kill" him. In another case, she threatened suicide. She ignored the contact and area ban that was in place against her.

Bombarded with calls

From April 2022, a second man came into her focus: she allegedly called him anonymously up to 80 times a day and also threatened, insulted, physically assaulted and falsely accused him. When he refused to meet with her, she threatened to falsely report him or kill herself, according to the indictment.

She made good on her threat with the false accusations: she reported the man for alleged sexual offenses. According to the public prosecutor's office, however, the woman knew that he "had not committed any of these offenses". The Bülach district court is expected to hand down its verdict on Wednesday.
