Woman killed in violent crime in family in Valais

A 61-year-old woman has been killed in a violent crime in her family in Ried-Brig VS. The Valais police arrested a 63-year-old man after the crime on Wednesday evening, as reported on Thursday.
At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, a police spokesman would not provide any information about the scene of the crime, the exact relationship between the people or the circumstances.
According to the statement, the police were alerted at around 5.45 pm. Several patrols were then deployed. The emergency services then found a lifeless woman.
The woman who was killed was a Swiss woman and the suspected perpetrator was a Swiss national, it was reported. The man was taken into custody. The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation.
