Due to renovation work following a landslide, the line between St. Gallen and Goldach has been single-track only since June 10. According to SBB, the line is expected to be open again without restrictions from September 30.
A landslide occurred near St. Gallen on Whit Monday. SBB then started extensive renovation work. After the section between St. Gallen and Mörschwil was initially closed completely for three weeks, the line has been single-track again since June 10.
However, the work to stabilize the slope is still ongoing. The restriction is therefore not expected to be lifted until September 30, as SBB announced on Tuesday. This will continue to lead to various restrictions in rail traffic.
However, the Eurocity (EC) between Zurich and Munich, which could only run between Zurich and St. Margrethen due to the storms in Bavaria, resumed operations on July 1.
