The Zurich city police have drawn a positive balance after the two concerts by US pop star Taylor Swift. The fans were absolutely peaceful. However, eight people could be prosecuted for flying drones.

The drones were in the airspace of Letzigrund stadium, as the Zurich city police announced on Thursday. The city police counted around 100,000 people inside and outside the stadium, and there were no problems.

The police had previously advised against going to the stadium without a ticket. This was because thousands of "Swifties" without tickets caused problems in other cities. However, public transport was not affected in Zurich. There was therefore no reason to stop the fans from celebrating outside the stadium, said a spokeswoman for the Zurich city police when asked by Keystone-SDA.

Criticism in parliament

The security and traffic concepts have proven their worth, the press release continues. The extensive road closures in the district were a major issue in the run-up to the event.

On Wednesday evening, several politicians on Zurich's municipal council criticized the fact that residents had been given too little information about the planned measures in advance. This had led to a great deal of uncertainty, but in the end the residents were not restricted at all, it was said. The city police have not yet received any negative feedback from the concert days.

Swift played in Switzerland for the first time on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both concerts were sold out.
