Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has accused China of sabotaging the upcoming Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland. Speaking to journalists in Singapore on Sunday, Zelenskyi claimed that China was working to “deter” countries from participating in the peace summit on Ukraine.

China had previously criticized the summit plans, citing Russia’s exclusion from the event. “Unfortunately, China is now trying to prevent countries from coming to the peace summit,” Zelenskyi remarked during a security forum in Singapore.

China has indicated that President Xi Jinping will not attend the summit, and US President Joe Biden has yet to commit to participating. Zelenskyi expressed disappointment over the lack of commitment from some world leaders but refrained from naming China or the US specifically. “We are disappointed that some world leaders have not yet confirmed their participation in the peace summit,” he said.

Despite these challenges, more than 100 countries and organizations have confirmed their participation in the summit, which is scheduled for June in Switzerland. Zelenskyi urged the countries of the Asia-Pacific region to join the summit, emphasizing the importance of global support for peace in Ukraine.
