On the third day of October, temperature records were broken again in Switzerland. In Lucerne, for example, 27 degrees Celsius were measured. The previous highest record was 26.6 degrees. Switzerland experienced record-breaking temperatures on Tuesday, according to SRF Meteo and private weather service Meteonews. Meteonews also reported record-breaking temperatures in Wädenswil (new: 25.8 degrees, old 24.5 degrees) and Bern (25.7 degrees versus 25.3 degrees). The temperatures in Luzern and Bern were particularly noteworthy, as these cities have very long-running measurement series. According to SRF Meteo, Tuesday was the warmest day with 28.2 degrees in Laufen BL. With the strengthening of the wind, it became a bit cooler in the course of the afternoon, according to Meteonews. On the day before, records had already been broken. By 5 pm, no fewer than 20 stations of Meteoschweiz registered new record highs since the start of measurements. In some cases, decades-long records were surpassed. In Buffalora at the Ofenpass GR, for example - usually known as a place of cold records - the temperature rose to 21.3 degrees, surpassing the October record measured only on Sunday by one degree.
