Swiss Travel Enthusiasm is Unbroken

Swiss people are eager to travel for holidays. According to a representative study released by the travel company Hotelplan Group, more than a third of respondents plan to travel more in the next twelve months than they did in the previous year, and even more than a quarter plan to travel more than before the pandemic. The greatest travel enthusiasm is found among the people of Ticino. The travel budget for many has increased since the pandemic, but there are also those who have less money available for travel. When it comes to booking, most people search online (51%) or rely on recommendations from friends (32%), while 14% consult a travel agency and the rest use social media. When it comes to the mode of transport, there are clear differences between age groups. Despite environmental concerns, there is no fear of flying, with 41% of respondents preferring to fly to their destination. Younger generations are more likely to fly, while older generations prefer to travel by car.
