The number of company startups in Switzerland is steadily increasing - according to current figures, a new record is even on the horizon for 2023. Founders with foreign citizenship continue to play a major role.
For example, the IFJ, Institute for Young Enterprises, concluded in a study on Friday that of the companies founded to date, around 44 percent have at least one founder with a foreign nationality.
However, it should be noted that some of these are mixed teams of founders, i.e. with Swiss and foreign nationality. According to an Avenir Suisse study, the proportion was 45 percent in the previous year.
The experts see the reason in the fact that Switzerland offers excellent conditions for start-ups as a business location. This makes it correspondingly attractive for founders from abroad. And only through innovation can Switzerland maintain its international competitiveness.
