Gotthard road tunnel closed on both sides due to a fire

A fire broke out in the Gotthard road tunnel on Friday morning. The tunnel was closed on both sides. The emergency services were on site, said a spokeswoman for the cantonal police of Uri at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The spokeswoman was unable to provide any further details about the fire. It was also initially unclear whether there were any injuries.
