Syngenta employees in Switzerland can look forward to higher wages. Together with the employee representatives, the agrochemical group has agreed on a 2.2 percent pay rise for the coming year, the company announced on Thursday.
However, this does not mean that wages will rise by 2.2 percent for all 3,000 employees. Rather, the higher salary amount will be available to line managers for individual salary adjustments. A Syngenta spokesperson explained to the news agency AWP that they have a certain amount of discretion in this regard.
In principle, however, salaries will increase for all employees, the spokesperson continued. The only exception is senior management, where no pay rises are planned.
The higher salary is intended to cushion the recent sharp rise in the cost of living, Syngenta explained. The higher salary is to be paid from April 1, 2024.
