The girlfriend of a woman accused of murder has had to answer to the Lucerne Criminal Court today (Wednesday) on charges including aiding and abetting. She is accused of knowing about the crime and destroying evidence.

The defendant denied this. Her friend - the main defendant - had forced her to spend the day with her, although she had not been feeling well. She had not known that her friend was planning to visit her mother later. When they suddenly arrived at her mother's house, she refused to go inside.

When the main accused came out of the house after the crime, covered in blood, she said that her mother had pushed her out of the window. In the car, she changed the bloody clothes and instructed the accused to drive away.

Accused argues with self-protection

The judge wanted to know from the defendant whether she had known about her mother's death. She denied this. She had rather suspected that her friend had possibly just stolen from her mother and then feared that she would now want to blame the theft on her.

Only to protect herself did she agree to burn the bloody clothes in the forest. She also pocketed a weapon disguised as a key fob, which the main defendant had allegedly stolen from her beforehand, and later disposed of it. She had done this because the weapon was not registered and she wanted to protect herself.

In January 2020, the 48-year-old main accused allegedly poisoned her mother, but she survived the attack. In April 2020, the accused then allegedly forced her way into her mother's house and killed her. Her friend is said to have accompanied her on the day of the attack and then helped her dispose of the evidence.
