28-year-old hiker falls to his death in the Bernese Oberland

A 28-year-old hiker died on Thursday afternoon near Ringgenberg BE. He fell several hundred meters into the depths, as reported by the Bern cantonal police on Friday.
According to initial findings, three people were on their way from the Harder towards the Augstmatthorn when they decided to descend towards Ringgenberg. The man slipped over a snowfield on the descent and fell to his death. The two companions remained unharmed.
The victim of the accident is a Swiss national from the canton of Zurich. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
