The two people missing after the fire in an apartment building in Pfaffnau, Lucerne, are both adults. Simon Kopp, spokesman for the Lucerne public prosecutor's office, said this when asked by the Keystone-SDA news agency. It is currently assumed that they are still in the building.

The emergency services are currently busy with the final extinguishing work, said Kopp. As the building was in danger of collapsing, specialists had also been called out to check whether the two missing people were still in the house.

According to Kopp, the cause of the fire is still completely unclear. However, fire investigators have already been called in.

According to the police, a total of seven residents had to be evacuated after the fire on Monday night. The ambulance took three people to hospital due to suspected smoke inhalation. The Pfaffnau-Roggliswil and Zofingen fire departments and a rescue helicopter were deployed.
