A7 highway in Thurgau closed due to heavily iced roadway

In Thurgau, heavy precipitation of snow and sleet led to around a dozen accidents at the same time on the A7 highway shortly before midday. The cantonal police completely closed the highway between Attikon ZH and Kreuzlingen TG due to the icy road surface.
Three people were injured in the accidents, a spokesperson for the Thurgau cantonal police confirmed a report by 20 Minuten online. Two accident victims had to be taken to hospital. In the afternoon, sections of the A7 highway were reopened to traffic.
