Since the early afternoon, the police have surrounded a group of left-wing extremists on Zurich's Langstrasse. The situation remained tense, as a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency discovered at the scene.
In the meantime, a second group of demonstrators split off and wanted to march in the direction of Badener Strasse. On the way there, however, they dispersed. Another group engaged in the familiar cat-and-mouse game with the police.
According to the reporter, more than 100 police officers are on site. In the run-up to the event, various radical left-wing organizations had called for an unauthorized "nacho" in Langstrasse.
There was no damage to property until early Wednesday evening. Numerous onlookers followed the events. The Zurich city police recommended on Platform X that people stay away from the demonstration and follow the instructions of the emergency services.
