Mountain victim found during search operation in Ticino

The Ticino cantonal police and mountain rescuers found a mountain victim during a search operation in Val Malvaglia on Saturday morning. The body was found in rough terrain at around 2,700 meters above sea level below a mountaineering route. The identification of the body was underway on Saturday evening.
In addition to the police, the air rescue service, an army helicopter, a helicopter from a private company and regional Swiss Alpine Rescue corps were involved in the search operation, according to the cantonal police. Malvaglia is located in the lower Blenio Valley.
