Access road to the Saas Valley closed – pictures of the devastation

The Saas Valley is cut off from the outside world due to flood damage. Photos from online portals show a picture of devastation.
The online portal 20min.ch published an eyewitness picture from Saas-Grund of cars crushed against a house facade by a river of debris. Other pictures show huge piles of rubble and mud between the houses in the village.
According to the saas-fee.ch portal, the Saas Valley was cut off from the outside world. The roads from Saas-Balen to Saas-Grund and from Saas-Grund to Saas-Almagell were closed on Sunday. The road to Saas-Fee was also closed due to a landslide.
The portal blick.ch reported one fatality in Saas-Grund. The cantonal command staff have not yet confirmed this report at the request of Keystone-SDA.
