During his visit to the upper Maggia Valley, Christian Vitta, President of the Cantonal Government of Ticino, promised to ensure basic supplies to the region as quickly as possible. He also praised the good cooperation between the army and the canton.
The electricity and water supply in particular must be restored as quickly as possible, said Vitta (FDP) during a visit by Federal President Viola Amherd at the entrance to the upper Maggia Valley.
Switzerland's federalism is very important at this time. For the mountain cantons of Graubünden, Valais and Ticino affected by storms, it is very important to feel the solidarity of the other cantons, Vitta noted.
