Injured when scaffolding collapses in Lausanne

Several people were injured in the partial collapse of scaffolding in Prilly VD, west of Lausanne, on Friday. The accident occurred in the area around the Malley Lumières shopping center.
A major police and rescue operation is underway, a spokesman for the Vaud cantonal police told the Keystone-SDA news agency. The accident occurred shortly before 9.30 am. Several ambulances and fire and police vehicles were at the scene. The police did not initially provide any further details.
According to several media reports, the accident happened on the construction site of "Malley Phare". This construction project aims to raise the western part of the Malley Lumières shopping center by 14 storeys. The building is located next to the Vaudoise Arena, the stadium of HC Lausanne.
