Over 150 volunteers help clean up in Lostallo

More than 150 volunteers are helping the storm-damaged municipality of Lostallo GR to clean up on Saturday. The helpers come from the region, Ticino and German-speaking Switzerland, as the municipality announced on Wednesday.
In Misox, the municipality of Lostallo was particularly badly affected by the floods on June 21. So far, only a limited number of volunteers have been deployed for safety reasons.
According to the municipality, the first "Day of Solidarity" on July 20 is entirely dedicated to cleaning up and clearing dozens of hectares of meadows and fields that were hit by the debris of the flood. Companies from the region are providing up to 30 excavators, wheel loaders and other machines.
The volunteers are deployed at twelve locations. They are equipped with shovels and rakes. According to the municipality, there will be a communal lunch.
