A 26-year-old Eritrean man is charged after a brutal attack at Zurich main station. In addition to a prison sentence of ten years, the public prosecutor's office has also requested inpatient treatment, i.e. therapy.

The 26-year-old suddenly attacked a 55-year-old woman in February 2023, as the Zurich public prosecutor's office announced on Wednesday. He punched and kicked the woman even when she was already unconscious on the ground.

The 26-year-old also attacked a 16-year-old female helper. The accused is charged with attempted intentional homicide, among other things. According to the public prosecutor's office, he has confessed and is of reduced culpability. It is not yet clear when the trial will take place.
