Basel police investigate after a homicide

On Thursday, a lifeless woman was found in the stairwell of an apartment building on Nasenweg in Basel. The Basel-Stadt public prosecutor's office is assuming a homicide, as they wrote in a statement.
The unknown perpetrators were on the run in the evening and the identity of the victim was unknown. A man had previously been reported to the police by a local resident who had been acting suspiciously in the property, according to the press release issued on Thursday evening.
The Basel-Stadt cantonal police cordoned off the area near Nasenweg and Lehrnmattstrasse on Thursday afternoon. The criminal investigation department set up a special commission to determine the exact course of events, the identity of the victim and the perpetrators.
