Evacuation flights in Saas-Fee will also take place on Saturday

The municipality of Saas-Fee has also set up an airlift between Saas-Fee and Stalden VS for Saturday. On Friday, around 250 people were flown by helicopter from the Saas Valley to Stalden, according to the command staff.
Around 100 people were turned away, the Saas regional command staff announced late on Friday evening.
The flights will therefore be offered on Saturdays between 09:00 and 12:00 and between 13:30 and 18:00. Advance booking is not required. A flight costs 140 francs per person.
The Valais tourist region of Saas-Fee is no longer accessible by road. A landslide interrupted the cantonal road between Stalden and Saas-Balden on Thursday. According to the press release, it will remain closed until at least the beginning of the week.
