Mariann Bühler, Zora del Buono, Martin R. Dean, Béla Rothenbühler and Michelle Steinbeck have been nominated for the Swiss Book Prize 2024. The most important award for Swiss authors and the book industry will be presented in Basel on November 17, 2024.

The Swiss Book Prize was initiated in 2008 by the LiteraturBasel association and the SBVV, which are still the sponsors of the prize today. The works are submitted by the publishers. This year, 48 publishers submitted 84 titles, as announced by the Swiss Booksellers and Publishers Association (SBVV) on Thursday.

Last year, Christian Haller was honored with the Swiss Book Prize worth 30,000 francs for his story "Sich lichtende Nebel". The 80-year-old Haller's work beat off competition from his younger colleague Sarah Elena Müller and his equally younger fellow nominees Demian Lienhard, Matthias Zschokke and Adam Schwarz.
