Schwyz approves 139 million loan for administration building

The Schwyz electorate has narrowly approved the new Kaltbach administration and security center. This will cost the canton CHF 139 million.
The bill was approved by the people by 27,024 votes in favor to 25,152 against, with a 51.8 percent share in favor, according to the canton of Schwyz's website. The voter turnout was 48.6 percent.
The building is expected to be ready for occupation in 2029. A building lease is planned for the current administrative site at Bahnhofstrasse 15. A successor solution with private-sector jobs is to be realized.
The referendum was initiated by a group called the "Progressive Conservative Movement".
