Jura government welcomes “historic referendum result”

On Sunday, the Jura government hailed the voters' approval of the Moutier Concordat as a "historic result". The result fills them with pride, happiness and enthusiasm, said Jura Minister Nathalie Barthoulot.
The democratic process that was initiated around ten years ago is now coming to a "wonderful end". According to Barthoulot, the Jura government is very moved by the clear yes vote at the ballot box.
Even if there were still some doubts here and there, for example with regard to the costs of the change of canton, the population said yes wholeheartedly. The Jura government promised to do everything in its power to answer questions that arise in everyday life. The answers should help to dispel any remaining doubts.
Following Sunday's vote, concrete work will now continue so that the Jura can welcome Moutier peacefully and enthusiastically at the beginning of 2026.
