For the expansion of Lenzburg AG station and the renewal of the railroad lines in the surrounding area, there will be disruptions to regional and national train services on six weekends from September 28. Rail replacement buses will be running until mid-November and trains will be canceled or rerouted, as announced by SBB on Monday.
The closures will begin at 02:00 on Saturday night and last until 04:00 on Monday. This affects the weekends of September 28/29 and October 5/6, as well as the four weekends between October 19/20 and November 9/10, according to SBB.
In most cases, only one lane is in operation at a time, which is why there are detour, cancellations and altered journey times. Long-distance trains between Zurich and Basel and Zurich and Bern are also affected. SBB recommends consulting the online timetable or the SBB app before starting your journey.
The biggest restrictions are planned between midday on Saturday, November 9, and Monday morning at 4.45 a.m. on November 11. Due to the total closure of the Lenzburg-Othmarsingen line, replacement buses will be running. The Olten-Zurich trains on the IR35 line and the trains between Lenzburg and Zurich on the IR37 line will be canceled.
