Migros employees will once again receive higher wages from next year. The retailer is increasing the wage bill by 1.0 to 1.3 percent, as announced on Tuesday. The aim is to compensate for inflation.
The lower salaries in particular are to be increased, with the pay rise generally amounting to at least CHF 50 per month for a full-time employee. It applies to employees of Migros companies that are subject to the national collective labor agreement.
According to the press release, Migros has negotiated the wage increase with all social partners. It was signed by the National Commission and the Butcher's Staff Association. The Swiss Commercial Association has "taken note" of the outcome of the negotiations.
The federal government is forecasting inflation of 1.2 percent for the current year. The budget is intended to enable Migros companies to compensate for inflation - "or even exceed it".
