In his hometown of Rostock, German rapper Marteria gave an emotional prelude to the farewell tour of his fictional character Marsimoto. Swiss fans can bid farewell to the "rapping Martian" at Halle 622 in Zurich on November 27.

Marteria kicked off the last tour of his extraterrestrial fictional character Marsimoto loudly, with lots of fog and green lasers. In Rostock, 41-year-old Marten Laciny, the man behind Marteria and Marsimoto, got emotional again and again in front of more than 1000 fans. After 20 years and 200 songs, one of his announcements was that this was the end for good.

Marsimoto's trademarks are his artificially heightened voice, mask and green outfits. He describes cannabis or absinthe intoxication to a sometimes brute sound - the main thing is green. Some of the fans also came in green or even with masks.

Or he criticizes society. For example, the abbreviation "KI" on his latest album does not stand for "artificial", but for "no intelligence". And the title "Heile Welt" is more of a dystopia: "Man was the problem here".

Whether his departure has anything to do with the limited legalization of cannabis in Germany remains unclear. In any case, the title "Illegalize It", in which he winkingly calls for a crackdown on smoking weed - "only Martians are allowed to smoke" - was not to be missed at the concert.

Marsimoto's last concert in his home town was a very emotional moment, said one fan. His last song at the start of the tour seemed to be intended as a consolation: "Solang die Vögel zwitschern gibt's Musik".

His 17-year-old son, the rapper Luzey, is accompanying Marsimoto as a support artist on his farewell tour. This tour also takes him to Switzerland: the local audience can bid farewell to Marsimoto on November 27 at Halle 622 in Zurich.
