Le Glaçon Suisse is a Geneva-based company that produces ice cubes and crushed ice. In its first year of operation, it produced over 100 tons of ice cubes. The ice cubes are produced in a warehouse in La Praille, Carouge, where the temperature is kept at 2 degrees Celsius. Each cube weighs 28 grams and is 22 millimeters in length. The cubes are then stored in a container at -14 degrees Celsius. The company has three ice cube machines that can produce 750 kg of ice cubes per day, with an energy consumption of 320 kWh per ton. With the help of a new investor, a new production head was purchased that can produce two tons per day with an energy consumption of 135 kWh. The company has supplied eight tons of ice for the Lake Parade techno festival in Geneva. The idea to start a local ice cube production company came in the summer of 2021. The main concern is a power outage.
