Two tourist buses were taken out of service in Valais last weekend. Around 70 Asian passengers had to continue their journey in other buses. One of the buses had not only defective brakes, but its driver also did not have a driver's license. On Sunday, the police stopped a bus registered in the canton of Ticino. During the technical inspection, they found serious technical defects in the brakes, as the cantonal police of Valais announced on Friday. In addition, the 52-year-old Croatian driver was not in possession of a valid driver's license. The vehicle was shut down and the 49 Chinese children on board reached their destination in a Valais holiday resort with a local transport company. Both the driver and the head of the company were reported. The day before, the police had already stopped an Italian tourist bus on the Rhone motorway A9 between Bex and Martigny. The 65-year-old Italian driver was carrying out an intra-state passenger transport with a vehicle registered abroad, thus violating the cabotage ban. The 21 Asian passengers were able to continue their journey with a bus from a local transport company. The driver and the managing director of the company were reported and had to provide a bus guarantee of around 4000 francs.nnnn
