Courtepin Confronts Tragic Aftermath of September’s Fatal Traffic Incident
In a tragic turn of events, the Fribourg public prosecutor has taken a significant step following the serious traffic accident in Courtepin on September 8, 2023. The suspected driver, a 24-year-old man, has been remanded in custody.
He faces grave accusations, including causing multiple fatalities.
The driver, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, underwent extensive hospitalization. Following his recovery, he was interrogated last week, as disclosed by the Fribourg cantonal police.
The accident, which occurred on a left-hand bend, involved the driver veering into the oncoming lane, resulting in a collision with a car and a scooter.
The scooter driver tragically lost their life at the scene.
An 80-year-old woman, among the injured, later passed away in the hospital.
Additionally, five individuals in the two cars suffered severe injuries.
Working diligently on the case to resolve questions and help find justice, it has been revealed that the 24-year-old was driving at excessive speeds and with a suspended license.
