Decathlon Accelerates Swiss Expansion
French sporting goods retailer Decathlon is pushing ahead with its expansion in Switzerland. To this end, it is opening five new stores in Geneva, Winterthur, Vevey, and Granges-Paccot between March and November 2024.
More stores are expected to open over the year.
Decathlon announced the new openings on Monday in response to growing customer demand in city centers and the “pleasing results” of the last openings. The sporting goods retailer had already announced four new stores in Biel, Martigny, Davos, and Bern last September.
Decathlon reportedly opened its first store in Switzerland in 2017. The retailer now has 33 points of sale across Switzerland. There are 1750 worldwide.
