A 14-year-old girl was fatally injured in a car accident in Thal SG on Thursday night. The driver and three other passengers were taken to hospital according to the police. The accident occurred at 0.15 am on the A1 motorway, as reported by the St. Gallen cantonal police. For unknown reasons, the car veered off the road and collided with a signalisationstafel. According to the report, the driver and passengers were a family from Austria. The 58-year-old driver, the 54-year-old mother and the 16 and 24-year-old sisters of the deceased were taken to hospital with minor to unspecified injuries. The 14-year-old girl died at the scene of the accident. The motorway towards Thal SG had to be closed for several hours according to the police. In addition to the police, three ambulances with paramedics, the Rega and employees of the public prosecutor's office and the national road maintenance service were on the scene.
