4205 Companies with validated CO2 reduction targets

Worldwide, 4205 companies have had their CO2 reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). 53 percent of them are headquartered in Europe, according to a new report by the initiative.
Asia is in second place with 27 percent, ahead of North America with 14 percent. A total of 133 Swiss companies currently have CO2 reduction targets validated by the initiative.
The SBTi is a globally active organization that is supported by business associations, environmental protection organizations and countries. It creates standards for CO2 reduction by companies and verifies these for a fee. According to the initiative, validated targets are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
