76-year-old man found dead with knife injuries in Broc FR

A 76-year-old man has been found dead in his apartment in Broc FR. Due to the injuries found, the Fribourg public prosecutor's office opened a homicide investigation.
The police found the dead man on Monday, November 20, after relatives had been worried about him, as the Fribourg cantonal police announced on Tuesday. An inspection of the apartment revealed that the man had been dead for several days.
The initial investigation revealed that the injuries were inflicted by a third party with a knife, according to the statement. Several patrols were deployed, including the criminal investigation department and the Centre Universitaire Romand de Médecine Légale (University Center for Forensic Medicine of Western Switzerland).
The investigation led by the public prosecutor's office is still ongoing. A homicide investigation has been opened. No further information would be given at this stage of the investigation, said a media spokeswoman for the Fribourg cantonal police on request.
