A2 between Mendrisio and Bissone closed due to landslide

The A2 highway northbound between Mendrisio TI and Bissone TI is closed due to a landslide. This was announced by the Ticino cantonal police on X.
A detour will be made via the cantonal road.
There has been heavy rainfall in Ticino since Saturday. According to the Federal Office of Meteorology (Meteschweiz), up to 150 liters of rain per square meter fell in southern Ticino. This also led to a landslide that cut off the Valle di Muggio from the outside world.
