Aldi Switzerland increases wages by 1.3 percent

The retailer Aldi Suisse is increasing the wages of its employees by 1.3 percent. The minimum wage will also rise to 4760 francs from 4700 francs for 13 monthly salaries, as the company announced on Thursday.
Aldi is also planning a wage supplement for apprentices and substitutes. Employees will also receive a goods voucher of up to 100 francs. Overall, the total payroll for salary increases and bonuses at Aldi will therefore rise by 1.4 percent in the coming year.
Migros had already announced at the beginning of November that it intended to pay its employees higher wages in 2025. The retailer is increasing the wage bill across the Group by 1.0 to 1.3 percent. At Migros' discount subsidiary Denner, the wage bill will rise by 1.1 percent. Minimum wages are to rise by 50 francs.
At Coop, wages are to be increased by "at least" 1 percent in the coming year. The Fenaco cooperative (Landi, Volg) is increasing the total wage bill by 1.2 percent.
