Following the fatal fall of a woman from a window in Lengnau, Bern, a 34-year-old suspect must stand trial. The man is in custody pending trial.

The lifeless woman was found in front of a house on Friedrich-Glauserweg on June 26, 2023. The 54-year-old Swiss woman had fallen out of a window. The police did not rule out the possibility of violence. A 34-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after the crime.

After extensive investigations, the public prosecutor's office considers it proven that the man and the woman had an argument in the apartment. The man is said to have injured the woman and then pushed her through an open window. The victim succumbed to her serious internal injuries.

The accused has been charged with intentional homicide. He denies the allegations, as the regional public prosecutor's office and the Bern cantonal police wrote in a statement on Tuesday. A court date has not yet been set.
