Anita Hugi has been appointed as the new Head of the Film Department at the Geneva School of Art and Design, replacing Nicolas Wadimoff who will remain a part of the teaching staff but focus primarily on his career as a director. Delphine Jeanneret, the current deputy head, will also be replaced, with a new appointment to be made at the start of the new school year. Hugi has a long history in the film industry, having served as Program Director of the Festival International du Film sur l'Art in Montreal from 2016 to 2018, a member of the Swiss Film Academy, and responsible for art documentaries at Swiss television SRF from 2005 to 2016. She also worked as an expert, juror, lecturer, and producer of her own film company. Her departure from the Solothurn Film Festival in 2021 was turbulent, with a public dispute over leadership issues. The Swiss Federal Office of Culture (BAK) was able to mediate an agreement, and the festival changed its statutes, now being led by a dual leadership.nn
