In Switzerland, 79% of the electricity from sockets in 2022 was from renewable energy sources, a decrease of 1% compared to the previous year. 65% of this renewable energy was from hydropower, 3% less than in 2021, with 68% of it produced domestically. 19.6% of the electricity was from nuclear power plants, with the majority of it coming from domestic sources. 13.7% of the electricity was from photovoltaics, wind, small hydropower and biomass, an increase of 2.5% compared to 2021, with 68% of it produced domestically and 45% of it supported by feed-in tariffs. 1.9% of the electricity was from fossil fuels, the same as in 2021. The Swiss electricity mix is 52.8% hydropower, 36.4% nuclear power, 1.4% fossil fuels and 9.4% new renewable energy sources. However, this mix does not match the average composition of the electricity supplied, as electricity is traded with other countries. Electricity suppliers have been required to disclose the origin and composition of the electricity supplied since 2005.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
