An unknown perpetrator blew up an ATM in Basel early Tuesday morning. No one was injured.
The incident took place at 5.00 a.m. in a restaurant on Friedrich Miescher-Strasse near the French border, according to the Basel public prosecutor's office. The explosion was carried out "in an as yet unknown manner".
Investigations are underway. No further details can be provided at present for tactical reasons, the statement continued. Witnesses are being sought.
In addition to the police, the fire department, the ambulance service, the Federal Police (Fedpol) and the criminal investigation department of the public prosecutor's office were also deployed to the scene.
