Actress Birgit Steinegger will receive the "Lifetime Award" in Zurich on Saturday. The prize for her lifetime achievement will be presented to the 75-year-old at the "Swiss Comedy Awards!" ceremony.

Steinegger will be presented with the honorary award by former Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard, who will also give the laudatory speech, as SRF announced on Thursday. The actress and parodist is being honored for her artistic work in the fields of comedy and satire.

With shows such as "Total Birgit" and her parodies on "Viktors Spätprogramm", "Punkt CH" and "Benissimo", she played a key role in shaping the Swiss comedy landscape. The radio satire "Zweierleier", which she co-hosted with Walter Andreas Müller for 28 years, is also legendary.

At the "Swiss Comedy Awards!", the best comediennes and comedians in Switzerland are honored in various categories. The show is hosted by Nadia Goedhart.
