Blick" analyzed the Zurich High Court's decision to overturn the first-instance verdict against ex-Raiffeisen CEO Pierin Vincenz and other defendants on its website as follows:

"What a debacle for everyone involved! There are only losers here. For the main defendants Pierin Vincenz and Beat Stocker, the decision of the High Court is not an acquittal. The offenses they are accused of are not time-barred by the delay. However, it will now take much longer before a final, legally binding judgment is handed down. Pierin Vincenz will be well over 70 years old by the time he knows whether he has to go to prison. His assets will remain frozen and his money will not be released. The overturning of the verdict on the grounds of "excessive indictment" is embarrassing for the trio of prosecutors led by Marc Jean-Richard-dit-Bressel. (...) Were the prosecutors' egos too big and the facts too thin to formulate a more precise indictment? Apparently yes. The decision is also a slap in the face for the district court. It should have dismissed the indictment in a chatty tone instead of passing judgment nonchalantly and quickly."
