British Parliament approves curfew extension for EM

The British parliament has approved an extension of the pub curfew in the event that England or Scotland make it to the last four of the European Football Championship.
The House of Lords approved a regulation on Friday that allows alcoholic drinks to be served until 1.00 a.m. the following day on match days for the English and Scottish national teams in the semi-finals or final. How long pubs in England and Scotland are allowed to serve alcohol depends on individual licenses, but as a rule, the limit is 11 p.m. at the latest.
"So much of what you have to deal with in the Home Office is difficult, so it gives me particular pleasure that my latest gig is basically allowing people to have a proper crack," said Conservative MP Lord Sharpe of Epsom. He added: "My Lords, please drink responsibly."
Scotland will face hosts Germany in the Allianz Arena in Munich on June 14 to kick off the European Championships. Other opponents in Group A are Switzerland and Hungary. England will face Denmark, Serbia and Slovenia in Group C.
